It is a small fishing village, located in a
horseshoe-shaped bay. Ayangue beach is known for its clear and warm waters, the
coral reefs, and the charm of a small town. The large number of fishing boats
offers trips into the sea a little bit which will allow you to have another perspective of the paradise you are visiting.
Ayangue is located in the province of Santa Elena and
is located at 41.9 km from the Canton of Santa Elena, in a horseshoe-shaped bay
that makes the waves of the sea come softly to the coast forming a kind of
natural pool, which is why Ayangue is also known as "the pool of the
Pacific" It is bordered on the north by the commune of San Pedro, on the
south by the commune of Palmar, on the east by the parish of Colonche and on
the west by the Pacific Ocean.
Tourist activities
• Diving: The
only protected bay of Ayangue, it differentiates it from other places in the
Spondylus Route and its very calm waters make it an excellent site for
underwater exploration.
• El Viejo and El Pelado: They are located approximately 20 minutes by boat
from Ayangue and offer great opportunities to see coral reefs, as well as
marine fauna. Some sightings can be: turtles, lobsters, octopus, white reef
sharks, manta rays, blue marlin, swordfish, among others
• Crafts:
many families of fishermen make jewels and souvenirs of stones, shells and
bones that they extract directly from the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
• Gastronomy: There is a diversity of rustic places that offer a
variety of dishes based on seafood such as lobster, fish and even spondylus.
